As the Indiana Pacers are conducting their head coaching search following the highly questionable firing of Nate McMillan, according to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, a candidate may have separated himself from the pack.
O’Connor reports that New Orleans Pelicans assistant coach Chris Finch has emerged as the front runner for the job.
Finch was the former head coach of the D-League’s Rio Grande Valley Vipers, which included leading the team to a championship in 2009-10. Following that Finch served as assistant with the Houston Rockets (2011-16) and the Denver Nuggets (2016-17). He has spent the last three seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans as an assistant on former coach Alvin Gentry’s staff.
